What are our hearts' pursuits? Things of this world, or heaven's things?
We know how to take care of our physical bodies, but do we take care of our souls?
We need to shift our mindset to be an eternal life mindset:
- Beware the pursuit of perishable bread.
The folly of seeking perishable bread - focuses on the here and now.
The root behind this kind of behavior is unbelief. - Embrace the pursuit of imperishable bread.
Don't get too cozy here.
Live for the world that you know is promised to you. Be busy with the King's work. He is with us every step of the way.
"Lord, I need you. You are my bread of life. I need you to sustain me and help me. I want to live for you. I want to live to do things that are beyond this world. Help me to seek your word, to pray and to serve your people."
Examine yourself. What are your serious heart pursuits?
Our Savior is imperishable!
