The Spirit of Truth

How can you be sure that God is really at work in you?   A refrain we keep hearing is, “Little children, let no one deceive you.”  We can be duped and become doubtful of His work in us, and we need clarity in distinguishing between children of God and children of the devil, between haters living in death and lovers living in eternal life, and (today) distinguishing the spirit of truth from the spirit of error.

• “Test the spirits” may not excite you as relevant to you today. You are in church, surely a true one.
• Besides, are you really that concerned about demonic deception? You aren’t into the occult, are you?
• Listening to news from various sources, it is amazing to catch evidences of spin and bias. What is true, what is half-true, what is blatantly untrue?  And this is about this-world issues, not eternal life.
• When it comes to eternal matters, how can we be sure that what we believe about God is true?
