Spiritual Amnesia
Due to the Ice Storm on January 24th, the January 25th Worship Service was cancelled.
This service takes place on the following Sunday, February 1st. The weather is getting better, and power is slowly but steadily being restored in the area. But with the congregation's safety in mind, this is an abbreviated Worship Service, live-streamed only. There is no bulletin for this service.
Sermon notes:
2 Timothy 2:8
Do you ever have a hard time remembering things?
We can also experience this in our spiritual lives. We can get spiritual amnesia and get distracted and forget the truth of the Gospel.
WE NEED TO REMEMBER JESUS
Because we forget: We can forget because of sin. Because of worldliness. Because of Satan, who tries to blind us to the truth.
Because He gives us hope in suffering: We can remind ourselves of the truth of Jesus risen from the dead in every situation we face. And remember that God is trustworthy. He made a covenant with David of a promised King who will reign forever. God keeps His promises. You can depend on His word. His promises find all their fulfillment in Jesus.
Because He is our Savior: Jesus remembered us at the cross. He rose from the dead and is victorious over sin and death. Remember the Good News.
How will you remember Jesus? Remember Him by reading His Word. Remember Him by praying and asking for His help to love Him and to love our neighbor.
