O Come To My Heart, Lord Jesus

Themes of Christmas well-used and familiar to us all.  Sometimes we need, not so much fresh details, but a fresh perspective on what God has done for us in Jesus.  Ponder with me today what we can learn about Jesus from a simple phrase, “because there was no room in the inn.”  Don’t get me wrong, “the hopes and fears of all the years rest” on this happening that night in Bethlehem.  “Mary gave birth to her firstborn son, swaddled Him, and laid Him in a feeding trough because there was no room in the guest room.”  God became man that night to flesh out literally the promise of redemption.  But why is the crowded house and a stable an important part of that story?
