Living Stones

We continue our Lenten series from 1 Peter, under the general title, Into Your Hands, preparing us for Good Friday when Jesus uttered those very words. Chapter 1 introduced us to the living hope that we have in Christ and this second chapter continues to build us up in knowing who we are in Christ, referring to us as living stones.  The core of this section is vss. 4-10, flanked by brief exhortations on feeding our souls and standing strong in a world where we don’t fit.  We will pose three questions: What is the deepest longing of your soul (1-3)? What is your fundamental identity (4-10)?  What is your place in this world (11-12)?   [Children: What do you want to be when you grow up, a baby?]
