Let the Lord Be Glad

What would you like to give to your father for Fathers’ Day? Perhaps we could take a hint from this Psalm.  Though it is about our Heavenly Father, there are three broad areas that clearly give Him pleasure.  These are things that we could want for our earthly fathers as well.  That they would be glad with their work.  Second, that they would be glad with being able to provide for their families.  Third, that they would be glad with our love for them.  We will focus on v. 31b, and ask the question: What is it that makes the Lord glad?  What gives Him pleasure?  Short answer: His works of creation, of providence/sustaining creation, and the praise and worship of His people.
