Joy Inexpressible and Full of Glory
We begin today a Lenten series from 1 Peter, under a general title, Into Thy Hands, preparing us for the most important season of the church calendar, the Passion of Christ. Frankly, even in the brief passage we’re reading in Peter, every sentence calls our attention to Jesus and God’s love for us. Imagine opening your bank statement expecting to be seriously in deficit, and discovering a positive balance with so many zeros that you aren’t sure if it is billions or trillions. Today’s Scripture is greater than that, showing us what God has done for us in the past, what He has in store for us in the future, and what He is doing for us in the present.
