In The Furnace Of Affliction

Speaker:
Passage: Genesis 39:1-23
Service Type:

Joseph, a beautiful story of forgiveness and reconciliation. We last saw Joseph coming to check on his despising brothers, who stripped him of his distinctive coat and threw him in a pit.  “Here comes this dreamer,” they scoffed, intending to kill him for his dreams of ruling over them all.  But those dreams were the revelation of God, that He had a plan and a purpose for Joseph’s life, a plan through him to save, not only his family, but millions more.  We pick up the story with the Dreamer imprisoned in a waterless pit, awaiting a fate most likely death, and we ask, “What now of those dreams?”  Will those dreams come true in the Pit, as Potiphar’s slave, in Prison, and finally in the Palace of Pharaoh?”
