Imperishable!

As we prepare to receive the Lord’s Supper, I call your attention in particular to two elements describing the precious and imperishable work of Jesus on our behalf, namely blood and seed.  The one speaks of the finality of death, the latter of imperishable life.  The blood of Jesus sets us forever free from death; the imperishable seed of God’s Word germinates in us life—forever.
