Foreshadows of Christmas: The 1st Foreshadow of Christmas
In this worship service, Pastor Grant Gilliam begins his 2025 Advent Series, "Foreshadows of Christmas", with this sermon entitled "The First Foreshadow of Christmas."
The sermon text is Genesis 3:15.
Sermon Notes:
To rejoice in the Goodness of God in this 1st Foreshadowing of Christ,
WE MUST:
1) Learn about the reality of spiritual warfare and be aware of its existence. However, we can be at peace about this because Christ is victorious! God curses Satan first to humiliate him. And he promises a battle between God's people and those who are not. God's people have always experienced persecution. However, Satan's accusations no longer stick. I Peter 5:8-11, Ephesians 6:10-20.
2) Remember, we have a victorious King - but we must wait for Him. The Christian life is marked by a "Holy Waiting". God is working in us during the waiting. Ask yourself, "How can God grow me while I am waiting? What is He teaching me?"
3) Wonder at this grace where the Savior wins by suffering. We have the promise of victory that shines in the midst of the battle.
GOD KEEPS HIS PROMISES!
