Betting On Fast Horses

From the title, did you think this was a message on gambling?  Well, it isn’t, except about betting your life on how you will respond to God’s offer of grace.  There is tension in this word, the LORD longs to be gracious to you.  Will you bet on God’s grace or on “horses,” or whatever?  At the LORD’s Supper you will be invited, Take and eat.  Will you take and eat, or do you have a better idea, like betting on horses.  I want to call your attention to three phrases representing a problem, a promise, and an end result: But you were not willing (15).  The Lord will surely be gracious to you (19b).  You will behold your Teacher (21c).
